Family

Junior is my  husband, best friend and soul mate.  We  have been married forty-one years in August.    I can’t imagine my life without him.  He has a servant’s heart and he loves the Lord.  He enjoys gospel music and good preaching.  We enjoy traveling and visiting other churches together.  Unlike me, he doesn’t meet a stranger; he loves to talk.

When I was saved, I surrendered every aspect of my life to the Lord.   I  told the Lord I didn’t care about marriage or children unless it was His will.  I prayed that if I was to marry, God would bring that person into my life that He had chosen for me.  In just a matter of days, I received a phone call from Junior wanting a date.  I was shocked because at the time I did not know him; and wondered how he knew me.  I knew I could not accept the date without first praying about it.  I asked him to call back which he did.  Our meeting and upcoming marriage was not just by chance; it was God who brought us together.

In the day in which we live, uniting in marriage does not always assure a life time of commitment to one another.  Doubts and uncertainties may cloud the mind even as those vows are made before God.  I am so thankful that when I spoke those marriage vows before God, I was as confident in our love for one another  as I was in accepting Christ as my Saviour.  My love for my husband grows deeper with every passing year; and I thank God for bringing us together.

It is my desire that we continue to serve the Lord together, hand in hand, side by side, as long as the Lord gives us life.
