The helmet of salvation refers to deliverance from sin in our daily lives, not eternal salvation. It is described as a helmet covering our head because our mind is controlled by Christ or Satan. Without this crucial piece of armour, our mind becomes an easy target for Satan’s attacks. We keep this piece of armour in place by renewing our mind; keeping our focus on Jesus, striving to be more like Him.
